Cassidy Possum Tjapaltjarri, Three Dreamings, Love Story, Rockhole, Goanna Dreaming, 180cmx167cm
£15,000.00
Cassidy Possum Tjapaltjarri began painting alongside his half brother Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri. Both were first generation painters and leaders of the Anmatjerre people living on Napperby Station and nearby Yuelumu (Mount Allan).
Cassidy spent three weeks working on this magnificent ’Three Dreamings’ painting, which he described as one one of the most significant and important produced during his long artistic career. Twelve men are shown singing the ‘Love Song Corroborree’ for Ngarlu, Red Hill. The image depicts elements that are secret/sacred and cannot be revealed to anyone other than highly initiated men.
